First time seeing this population. We hiked from skyline down to Stevens Creek and saw two individuals, both on the trail, none by the creek. Creek was (obviously) flowing really fast and super turbid.

In between the Vichy Resort and an abandoned Mercury mine, you find wet riparian habitat along a creek. Delayed rains brought many amphibians to the spot, and clearly some mating was going on. I also caught sight of a frog with a yellow stripe on its side out of the corner of my eye, jumping to avoid me. Special area, well worth protecting.
