N Vail Trail is an approximately 2 mile hike which I did today. Along the way I noticed a few sick plants, along with some tent caterpillars, a black spider, and an interesting small beetle about the length of 1/2 a centimeter. I observed that this ecosystem was suffering from some sort of imbalance. I was, sadly, unable find it. It may have likely been the fire ant nest I found.
Note: When going on North Vail Trail, you may
want to bring some bug spray, water, and lunch.
I can’t tell what the sickness is on this plant. Doesn’t exactly look like a Maple Erineum Mite.
