I'm a Naturalist who went to Unity College for 3 1/2 years, but graduated from S.U.N.Y. Cobleskill in 2000 with a degree in Wildlife Management. I specialize in mammals, birds, lepidoptera, herps, cacti, ferns, palms, trees, and citrus, but love all plants and animals. While traveling the world I'm always looking for animals and plants to observe and photograph. I have worked for more than 40 years in the plant and animal fields as an author, book editor, biologist, ornithologist, horticulturalist, and taxonomist. Seventeen years were spent as a consultant at the New York Botanical Garden in the Horticulture Dept., but have also worked at other botanical gardens, the Bronx Zoo, environmental consulting firms, Andrew Stewart Publishing, Wallkill River & Shawangunk Grasslands N.W.R.s, and S.U.N.Y. Cobleskill. I also maintain a personal natural history collection of found and bought natural things and a library of over 2900 titles, mostly plant and animal books. Currently I reside in Yonkers, N.Y., with my wonderful wife Nobue and my many plants.
