Acanthomyops Project

The goal of this project is to help gather more specimens of the subgenus Acanthomyops, or the Lasius claviger species group. This clade is quite diverse and known to hybridize extensively, and has generally been understudied for many years. We hope to do barcoding work with provided specimens to fill in the gaps of the current taxonomy.

Specimens not preserved in ethanol are okay, but ones in 95%+ denatured ethanol kept frozen are preferred for DNA usage. All castes accepted. Specimens not on iNat also accepted.
