While the photo does not show it, this bird was a very vibrant red. There were two other individuals flying around with it, and one was strangely red-brown. Perhaps a juvenile or the other sex.
I saw this bird in someones driveway as I left the trail. I often spot many robins near houses, not really in the forest.
Saw these fellows sitting on logs floating in the middle of the pond. There were many lined up on several logs.
Two males and one female. The males have green heads. The female has a consistent brown coloration. They are the focus of my field research.
I am unsure if this is a beaver, muskrat, or something else. Found near the edge of the water eating some grass. There are trees that have been bitten near the trunk.
