On a steep rocky slope, largely west-facing. Very common at this elevation.
My observation of this population two weeks later beginning to fruit is at https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/241610254.
Haven't noticed this species (or what I assume it is) at this property before but possibly because not on a main walking route and also near the more common Acacia decora. Nonetheless, found a handful of specimens, now that I'm looking properly. A very striking plant. The inflorescence description on PlantNET fits this plant and I can find one gland on each phyllode (possibly two on the odd one but couldn't find those ones again). Sometimes the gland is very subtle, while other times the phyllode looks like it has a spur.
