Found stuck to a curb, likely at rest for the day; I removed the snail thinking it was in distress. Cool water encouraged the snail to come out of its shell; I thought it was overheated or dehydrated, but after the snail retreated and stuck to a surface again when there was plenty of water, I realized that the snail probably emerged from its shell because the cold water was unpleasant.

Found stuck to a curb. When I attempted to remove it, it was deep in its shell, perhaps overheated or dehydrated (air temperature is 81 degrees Fahrenheit / 27.2 degrees Celsius, and the weather is very sunny, heating up the sun-exposed curb). When I brought it indoors and gave it cool water, hoping to aid the creature, it came out of its shell. ID tentative. Since it seems to be non-native, I may choose to keep it, but I don’t currently know a lot about snails. Advice is welcome :)

Larva, found dormant but alive, saved from drowning in a puddle.
Update: I decided to raise this caterpillar in captivity along with another of the same species, with the intention of setting the insects free as adults. The caterpillar became a pupa sometime before 4/14/23 and emerged as an adult on 5/4/23. Pictures of the pupae were taken on 4/14/23 and on 5/2/23. Pictures of the adult moth were taken on 5/5/23 shortly before the moths were released.

Found upside down next to a puddle, barely moving but alive, perhaps washed up by rain.
