Crotalus oreganus X lutosus intergrade
Harney county, Oregon
Crossing the road a few hundred yards away from one another. Really neat example of this subspecies phenotypic plasticity.
Sheldon National Antelope Refuge
Cleanest video still screenshots I could take.. I tried to film it while driving (didn’t work out great). Followed this fox down the road for a quarter mile. Driven this road a dozens of times, night & day, never even seen evidence of these here before.
P. catenifer intergrade. Found basking on a partly rainy day in the high 40s / low 50s.. Right near a lava tube where it will likely spend the winter. Walk the dogs out here all the time and I very rarely see snakes in this area.
3 juveniles flipped. 1 adult found surface active in late afternoon in the mid 80s.
Found on pavement at the airport
We saw so many of these today. Blessed.
