Found under large oak tree on edge of forest and field. Contains vole skull.
This was an unusual place to see deer tracks, crossing an open baseball field, likely at least 12 hours old and seen after a good rain. Gait is a trot, approx 60' stride.
I apologize for parallax and incomplete photos but didn't have as much time as I'd have liked to examine these.
Found under bridge near golf course
Left hind/front right pair of tracks from a raccoon classic overstep walk pattern.
This was an extremely interesting specimen. The turkey landed, showing tail feathers in the snow... then proceeded to walk through the cattails and up the wooded slope, only clearly registering its left foot.
In several parts of the several meter-long trail, I noted holes and scuffs in the snow that seemed reasonable for placement of a right foot (or stump). In particular, note the hole between the tail feather imprints and the first left track.
My interpretation: this turkey has an interesting tale to tell... and significant damage to its right foot. The significant coyote activity in the area (like the trail seen in the first photo) might have something to do with this injury.
