This photo was taken from about 275 yards away. This large, black cat was stalking a wild turkey, near a pond where a large tree rootball had been excavated. The yucca plant near the cat was measured at 18" high. The animal had been seen previously on the sheep ranch, and is believed to be what is referred to as a 'Melanistic Jaguar."
