Black patch at the tip and sides of snout is V-shaped and reaching the eyes in E. europaeus, which is perfectly visible here. See Photo 2 in Dziemian-Zwolak S. 2016 (download PDF of PhD thesis: https://researchportal.amu.edu.pl/info/phd/UAM787d2afab32b453f8af2d865f3c2beee). There is no white patch on the breast (typical for E. roumanicus), which I saw before the animal curled, unfortunately I did not managed to make a photo of its ventral side, it was too fast (You need to trust nie ;)). Unicolor breast and belly, with no white patch, is typical for E. europaeus as well. The animal was found by dogs in the garden and has some wounds, so we kept it for observation during the night, concerned about its health.
