On Sunday April 14th at around 3:00 pm I went for a short hike in the Fitzgerald Marine Reserve (Moss Beach) in Half Moon Bay. I drove down there from San Francisco. Although the weather was not nice in the morning, it became very nice in the afternoon and by the time I went on my hike, the day had become very warm and the sun was out. I have wanted to go tide pooling for a long time and this project felt like the perfect opportunity. Once I walked down to the beach, I spent my time venturing from pool to pool in a small area with a lot pools and lots of biodiversity. I managed to see hermit crabs, so many anemones, a lot of sea weed, some gull, barnacles, clams, mussels, kelp and so much more. Once I got to the tide pools, I spent about an hour there and by the time I left the tides had risen significantly. I had a very good time on my hike and would love to go tide pooling again sometime soon!
