-I love exploring nature! I really enjoy thinking and learning about ecological interactions and systems, especially through first-hand observation. I am driven to understand the many non-human species we share this planet with, but also to understand humans' place in these systems. This sometimes involves making "observations" on my smart phone for iNaturalist, and I love all the things and ways I can learn on here. But also, making "observations" can get in the way of making real observations.

-Probably most knowledgeable about orchids, but also love and study many other plants, fungi, and other creatures such as those in my favorite taxa. Currently studying, paying attention to, and learning a lot about lichens and especially bryophytes (sensu lato). Gradually getting back into grasses, and kinda sorta starting to learn other graminoids.

-Generally I spend more time studying, have a better memory for, and care more about plant ecology, phylogeny, and biogeography rather than plant identification.
