Crambomorphus sinuatus (Olivier 1811)

Thorax densely covered with long white pubescence, completely obscuring thoracic patterns.
Wings narrow, heavily marked with dark-brown, hind margins of both fore- and hind wings sinuate with acute falcate tips.
Forewings with four brown markings; posterior margin with broad sinuate brown stripe in apical half.
Hind wings brown with three pale bands and pale area basally.
Abdomen blood-red.

Distribution: Cape endemic, largely centred in the Karoo and Namaqualand.

The large black larvae live freely in sand.
