Psilodera hessei Schlinger 1960

A small species with yellow (male) or more orange-brown (female) fasciae on abdominal tergites, yellow legs with pale brown tarsi, small yellow spot at wing base; wings with black costa and dark brown veins, vein R2+3 close to vein R4 at wing apex, but not united, vein R5 ends before apex.

Distribution: Recorded from Zimbabwe and South Africa (Gauteng, Mpumalanga, Free State). P. hessei is the only Psiloderia species commonly found a considerable distance from the coast of South Africa.
